Die Casting for the Manufacture of Consumer Parts

Die Casting for the Manufacture of Consumer Parts. Consumers – individuals and businesses alike – prefer die cast parts in almost every item they use in their daily lives. This is primarily due to the advantages of die casting over other industrial processes used in the manufacture of consumer parts such as extrusions, sand castings, stampings, plastic injection moldings, forgings, permanent mold castings and screw machine parts.

Only few people are aware that almost every useful article that we employ in our daily lives makes use of die castings. The major manufacturing companies that produce aluminum consumer parts have deals with die casting companies. Most probably, you have no idea that your cellular phone has die castings installed. But it’s true! Other consumer product components that use parts made from die castings include computers, cars, toys, kitchen appliances such as stainless steels, motor components, burners, and fittings, home cleaning and care products, cast pipe fittings, door and window hardware and locks, furniture parts, toys such as gears, pedals, wheels and sprockets, lamp and lighting components, fireplace accessories, castings of electrical components, gas grill parts including casters, wheels, burns, knobs, handles, fittings, lids, plates, hinges and housings, and bath and beauty products like bathroom shelves, fasteners, water control assemblies, hair care products, plumbing fixtures, golfing products, and shavers.

Most of these consumer parts are made from aluminum. Aluminum is the practical choice because of it is lightweight, sturdy, good for thermal transfer, and it is electrically conductive. Its production is also better compared to that of other metals. Aluminum is also environment-friendly, flexible and resistant to oxidization.
